I love Seville and Madrid, but if you've been there before, I agree that you might want to spend some time elsewhere. A university city located 214 km from Madrid, Salamanca has earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list due to its splendid cathedral, the Monterrey Palace, and huge Plaza Mayor. Unlike Seville I think it's a one and done type location. Plus, the costs (and time) adds up travelling out and back to airports all the time.
